A town meeting was held at Mayfield Woods Middle School on Oct 5 to discuss the dangerous road conditions students must face as they walk to and from school. Representatives from the police department and county government were on hand to talk with residents.

I attended this town meeting last night. Several parents of students that had been hit by cars and other community members presented their issues and concerns to officials. Allen Dyer and Di Zou, Board of Education Candidates, are concerned about student safety and also attended the town meeting. Allen has developed some proposed changes to Policy 5111 Pupil Transportation that would require the school system to designate safe walking routes for students.
