What will 2007 bring?

It looks like money is going to be the big word in education in Howard County in 2007. Major renovations will begin at Glenelg and Mt Hebron High Schools. There is the projected shortfall with the school budgets and contracts with the four unions that need to be settled. And then there are the new requirements for accounting for current and future retiree's benefits which will likely overshadow every financial decision the Council and County Executive make.
